Part One of the High School Chemistry Olympiad was held on March 11, 2016 at the Department of Chemistry, University of Wisconsin-Madison. Eighty-one high school students representing ten schools participated in the event and competed by taking the local level exam.
Congratulations to the highest scorers on the local exam who received monetary awards from Wisconsin Section of ACS:
1st Place, $300 Award: Andrew Zhou from Monona Grove High School
2nd Place, $200 Award: Kelly Wu from Madison Memorial High School
3rd Place Tie, $150 Awards: Edward Cai from Madison Memorial High School
Luke Schoeberle from Verona High School
5th Place, $100 Award: Amos Egleston from Madison Memorial High School
6th Place Tie, $75 Awards: Mathilde Cornier-Tardif from Mount Horeb High School
Adam Schmidt from Mount Horeb High School
The four highest scorers on the local exam have been invited back to take the National Chemistry Olympiad Exam on April 23rd.
