Highschool teachers - consider encouraging your students to participate in the National Chemistry Olympiad!
When: Friday, March 9, 2018; Exam begins 4:45pm, Pizza and demonstration at 6:15pm, ending at 7pm
Where: UW-Madison Chemistry Building (Room TBA)

Registration is free and the event is sponsored by the ACS Wisconsin Local Section. The 90 min exam, which comprises 60 questions in multiple-choice format, will be followed by a pizza/soda reception and a chemistry demonstration lecture. Calculators are allowed on the exam, but they cannot be graphing calculators. Past exams are avaiable here.
There will be cash prizes for students gaining the three highest scores on the exam. There is no upper limit on the number of students who can attend, and you are encouraged to send as many of your interested students as possible. As part of University policy, an adult that is not affiliated with the University will need to accompany the students and be there for the event.
The top four scoring individuals will be invited back to take the full national exam (including multiple choice, short answer, and a lab practical) on Saturday, April 21.
